"5 switch" gang box

I need 5 switchs, on a wall ( new constrution) in my house and can't seem to find one at lowes or home depot. Can I take a 3 switch box and a 2 switch box and put them together???? thanks David

You should be able to find one at an electrical supply store. It may be costly and/or take a few days to get, but depending on exactly how everything is being wired, it might be worth it.

depending on how much room you need you could use gangable gem boxes, HD or lowes should have 'em and it would probably be cheaper. just a thought!

Ah, after you get the box though, then comes the fun part. Finding a switchplate for that b*gger!

gangable switch boxes

C'mon guys, sometimes you have to think outside the box. Don't fall into a Lowes or Home Depot answer for every thing. Most supply houses stock metal gangable switch boxes and 5 gang covers or will be glad to order them for you. Develop a working relationship with these places. If you get a bad time from one find another. These guys are paid to help and they will.

Hobo5803 is right. Anything beyond the commonplace, just bypass the box and go to a real source. Stainless steel cover plates go for a tiny fraction of the cost as a decorating center, even 5-gang covers (which was in stock).

Big Box Stores Have Them

Lowes and Home Depot sell Raco 2 1/4" Gangable Deep Steel Switch Boxes and well as sectional plates.
You can make as large of a box as you need without any special orders and shipping charges.

Hi I am getting ready to replace my breaker box. How do I turn of the main power coming into the house, or is this something I have to have the electric company do?

:confused: I am installing a combination ceiling fan/light. I want to be able to control the fan AND ALSO the light from a 3-way switch. Light is used as entrance light to the room as well as lighting the room while in use. Problem: NO SUCH 3-WAY SWITCH MADE.... Does anyone know how to wire this??? Certainly is not THAT unusual a situation... is it??? I understand that only ONE switch can control the unit and the other will be simply a "slave" switch, but THIS is what I want... BUT, I need to be able to control BOTH... unit is mounted on a cathedrial ceiling......... to high to hang chains from light... (besides looking stupid...) THANKS GUYS, jw:D
