Painting Basement Ceiling

My basement ceiling in unfinished and I would like to paint it using a sprayer. Will it cause a problem with my knob and tube wiring if it gets a coating of latex paint as well?

Thanks.

Cobos- Hello and welcome to the forums. Looks like one of our mods have got ya moved over to a better category here.

Well IMO, that knob & tube ought to go, don't think it would hurt anything to paint it, but like I say, if I was workin on the place, that would be at the very top of my to-do list!

Better ask a licensed electrician about spraying the old wiring, could be a shock hazard.

Again welcome, and let us know how this turns out.

I've never painted any, but have run across your situation many times (particularly in unfinished basements) and don't know why there would be any problem.
