Reparing wire damaged insulation

I have a couple of solid wires in metal closed box with damaged insulation. How can I repair them?

Depending on where or how far back the dammage is I usually just wrap the dammaged wire with some Good electrical tape (SCOTCH 33+) or if it is more delicate shrinktube is a good way to go also. Both items are readily available at your local hardware or electronics store. Good luck hope this helps.

personally I might use black electric tape and depending on some conditions splice tape covered by black, have also used heat shrink tubing.

I also thought about using electrical tape. I just want to be sure code permits this.
