Post Upgrading Electrical Service

I am seeking to upgrade the service to a small cottage. The existing system is over 40 years old(fuses, not breakers) and appears to be a 60 amp service. Our insurance company has required an upgrade to 100A. Can anyone give me an outline of the steps needed to do such a conversion? Any weblinks for more details? Thanks!

First you must check with the Building Dept. of your municipality and your Utility Co. to determine what is required for work-permits and inspections and if an electrical licence is required for performing the work. The Utility Co becomes involved because of Service/metering connections.

Please determine what is required on permit/license issues in your area and then we'll give further advise and assistance.----Good Luck!!!!

Yup, and while you are waiting here is a site to look at. My POCO has a drawing that comes with the meter base of their specs.
