how do you know what track to use??

If I'm understanding your question correctly the track you would use would depend on the application you are trying to accomplish. You might want to furnish a little more inforemation as to what your doing then maybe someone can offer you some good advice.

Basically what happned was when I left my old house I took the tracklights out of the studio to use in my new studio but I don't know what kind of track touse as the lumber yard that I bought them from has been replaced by another the units are ERCO Omegiasthat have a small lever to lock them into the track

I don't give up so here I have this ERCO Omega track lighting am
nd Idon't know wrere to go for tracks If it was american flier or lionel it would be easy well any way any ideas ladies and gentlemen?

You might try contacting the manufacturer for a list of suppliers in the US.

Another option is to go to a lighting supply house and ask if they can special order the track for you.
