Power inverters
two questions
I have two 400W 12VDC to 120VAC inverters.
1. Can we parallel the outputs of the two units to produce 800W?
2. Suppose we have a power inverter with unknown wattage output?
how can we find out its rated output using a meter?

1. No you can't. At least not without special equipment to sync the 2 ac currents into phase.
2. If the unit has a fused output you could check the fuse rating. Otherwise you can't really. You could use a meter to measure the current and keep increasing it until the unit fails. Then you will know what was too much.
