Wire Gauge required

I am wiring some Metal Halide lights in a Hangar and have a run of approximately 100' to first light and 160' to last light.

240Volts
400Watts/Light
2 Amps/light

4 lights on one circuit
8 lights on another circuit

What gage wire do I need?

#10 copper =minimum size.

My house was built in 1968.The wiring has three wires .One is black one is white one is red.Which is the hot and which is the ground?

I am trying to hardwire a dishwasher. I have run the wire to the service panel. I think the black wire goes into the breaker (20amp), but I am not sure where the neutral and ground wire go. Can someone help?
