Outdoor Lighting

I already have an outdoor lamp post that is contolled by a switch at the front door. Can a low voltage landscape lighting system and transformer be tied to this circuit so that I can turn everything on and off at the same time? From what I can see, it is the only thing on this circuit. I'm not really interested in a timer system, just want to turn it on when I need it and off when I don't.
Thanks

I see no reason that a low voltage lighting system can't be added to your existing circuit, provided it has the necessary electrical capacity, and you can install a 120 volt receptacle outlet to plug the lighting transformer into.

Go under the house or look on the outside of the house and find the wire going out to the post light. Cut the wire under the house (with switch off) and install a junction box with an additional cable for the transformer receptacle. The transformer receptacle will be switched on and off with the post light.
