Question Installing Under Cabinet Lighting

I'm remodeling my kitchen and I have a question about running the low-voltage wiring for the under cabinet lighting. Do I just want to wire an outlet at the top of the cabinet, which is connected to a switch. Then run a low-voltage wire in the wall from the top to the bottom of the cabinet for the lights. Then I can plug the transformer into the outlet at the top of the cabinet, which would then be connected to the low-voltage wire running in the wall.

Is there a better way of accomplishing this task?

Thanks,

Sounds like a good plan.

Hope this helps.

Make sure your low volt wire is rated to run in-wall. In my state we've had problems with this issue.
