Undergroud wiring
I would like to run electricity from the house to the garage going underground. Does anyone know what you need to run it through and how deep. Someone told me I could use special cable that gets baried or run it throw some type of electrical pipe.
Any one know code on this one?

You can buy special cable designed for underground use or you can run it through conduit PVC or Rigid. In some cases it is less expensive to run the conduit and pull wire through espically if you are running a couple of circuits. My suggestion if running conduit run use PVC it is much easier to handle. In most cases 18" is how deep you must go as long as your not going to run it under your driveway if you are then 24" is required.

Depends on how much power you need. If you only need 20 amps of 120 volts (2.4KW), then you can directly bury 12/2 UF-B only 12" deep and without conduit, after protecting that cable with a GFCI before it leaves the house. (In the United States, driveways used only for residential traffic do not require deeper burial, and you may not run a "couple of circuits").
If you want more power, it gets a lot more complicated. You will need to bury the cable 24" deep and you will need a subpanel and grounding rods at your garage.
Make the call ane we can help you with further details. Be sure to tell us how far away the garage is from the house, and if you need more than 2.4KW, tell us how much more.
