Angry fluorescent light

My fluorescent light would only partly go on so i changed the ballast. (same thing). I changed the entire fixture and the new one is doing the same thing. The bulbs don't completely light up, like they are warming up but never go on. I tried new bulbs, twisting tubes, new fixture, new ballast, you name it i did it. Help?

Many flourescent fixtures require a good equipment ground connection for them to work properly. If it was an existing fixture that stopped working , I would check the ground (bare or green) to be sure it is in tact from the fixture to the cirucit breaker panel.

Exclamation

Is the fluorecent fixture in a cool area or in a breeze from an air conditioner? If so, try shielding the bulbs. Many fixtures don't like cold

fluorescent light

the light worked for years then it started only partially lighting. There is light in the entire tube but it is about 1/5 of the light that should be put out. Thanks for your help on this.

I'm having the same problem. One bulb is only partially lighting up. I'v checked the grounds in 2 junction boxes leading up to the ballast and all apears fine now. I haven't yet checked the actual switch to the light. could that be the source of the problem. Could it not be grounded properly coming from the breaker box itself? Any help greatly appreciated!

More info:
Its a new ballast, but the old one did the same.

Thanks
