Too many wires ??
Hello All,
I just put up some outdoor flood lights, ran romex2 through the the attack, I found two boxes, one was totally full with bx3, the other one had two bx2 & two romex2 cables going into it , I ran out of wire and boxes so i added a fifth to this box, is this too much, is this dangerous???. Everything seems to be working and no breaker trips so far about 1/2 hour.
ps I also had to splice my new romex line together. I used wire nuts on all connections and wrapped with electrical tape.

Without knowing the gauge of the wire or the size of the box, it's hard to say. If the boxes don't seem crowded to you, then they probably are not. When in doubt, you can always add more boxes or switch to larger boxes.
