Toggle dimmer test

I have installed a new lighting circuit with 4 recessed cans operated by a Trimatron toggle dimmer. I want to do a continuity check on the circuit before attaching the feed to the breaker, but I ran into an interesting issue.

I can't seem to do a continuity test through the Trimatron. I put the red and black leads on a multimeter to check resistance as I moved the toggle from off to full on, but the resistance level never registered. Does the RFI circuitry prevent testing a dimmer switch using a multimeter?

Thanks.

Dimmers are electronic. You won't get continuity though them.
