Dimmed lights humming
Have a 550W load on a 600 watt dimmer. Lights seem to give off a high pitch whine. I read here that I should get a new brand of bulb or a higher load dimmer. In this case the dimmer would be the cheaper of the two. Will this (a 1000w) dimmer fix the problem? Lutron dimmers that size are approx. $40 Thanks, Mark

If you do not already have GE or Philips bulbs, switch to one of those brands. This has a much higher probability of success than changing the dimmer.
