location of lights rough-in?

location of lights rough-in?

In bathrooms is there a standard height, for the lights above the vanities? have not decieded if we are going to have a mirror or cabnet.. thanks Buckman

36" is a pretty standard bathroom mirror height. Most medicine cabinets will be okay with this space too. So I'd take the height of the vanity, plus the height of the backspash, plus 36 inches. Then add two or three inches and plan the bottom edge of the light fixture there. You can adjust this depending on what kind of fixture you plan. A fixture with pendant lights might need more height than a simple bar fixture with lights straight out.

I go 80" from rough floor, unless its spec'd otherwise. Havent had any problems.
