Replacing ceiling fan/light with recessed.

Replacing ceiling fan/light with recessed.
I currently have a ceiling fan with (2) 3-way switches. Each switch controls power to the fan (there are not separate switches to control the fan and light each). I am planning on removing the fan and putting in 4 recessed lights. I have not determined whether power goes to one of the switches or the light first. Either way, can I just piggy all the cans together and then tie the wires from the existing fan to the first can? I think I need to get the wire info for each piece in order for you guys to help me though.

You will have 2 wires or groups of wires going to the fan (black&white) + ground maybe. Use those 2 wires to connect your lights. Don't dismantle any other wre sets in the fan box. You don't need to go into the switch box. It doesn't matter where the power is.
There could be some whites connected to some blacks. This is normal. Don't try to fix the color mismatch. Use it the way it is.

So basically, when I remove the fan, I will run 14-2 (if it is a 15 amp circuit) to the first can, basically connecting the black to black and white to white, just like the fan was? Then, I will be connecting the black of the new 14-2 from the existing fan with the black of the first can and the black of the 14-2 to the 2nd can, and the same for the white, correct? If this is ok, I think I am going to have to make a new junction box or move the existing fan box because I would like to sheetrock right over it and will need access to it through the attic.
