Jacuzzi power question

Running a dedicated 20amp circuit for a new jacuzzi tub. Planning on mounting the box on a joist in the garage ceiling directly below the tub, then drilling a small hole in the floor to feed the plug to the receptacle. Question is does this need to be a GFCI receptacle?

Flexible cords are not allowed to pass thru walls, floors, or ceilings. You'll need to locate the receptacle at the motor.
