extra cable

I have run a new circuit, but have considerable slack in the run. Can I just bunch the cable together and tie it up. Whats the code say?

No. Don't do that. It will create heat buildup.

OK, so what do I do. I'f you had say 4 extra feet in a 30 foot run, what would you do besides unattach one side and pull the extra through.

There's probably many things that you could do.

(1) Do nothing.
(2) Cut four feet off one end.
(3) Run the cable up one stud and down another.

There's probably another hundred possibilties too. But you can see it and I can't, so you're in a better position to make the choice. I'd probably take option (2).
