blank covers

Kitchen -there was a cheazy wall light above the sink which i removed and there is some very thin wire that was hooked to it, should I wire nut each wire and then put a blank cover over it? Is this a turn off for the next buyer of the house? Any suggestions? I'm not sure of the wire gauge but it resembles cheap speaker wire.

I assume that there is an electrical box there. True?

Yes, put a wire nut on each wire and put a accessible blank cover plate on the box. I'm surprised that you have such small wiring in the walls. Can't think of a time in the last century when that might have been legal.

Would be even better if you could find and disconnect the other ends of those wires too.
