Unhappy 3way dimmer switch and new ceiling fan

Had a ceiling light fixture operated by three way with one dimmer switch. Replaced it with a ceiling fan with separate light kit. Works but has a loud hum. Ceiling light and fan wired together to power source. Very slight hum when just the fan is on but increases in volume with light on. Dimmer switch is constantly set at full power and is used to dim only when fan is shut off. Question--does a dimmer switch deliver full 110 power to light and fan when set at full power? Or do I need to take the dimmer switch out and just put in a plain three way switch?

It should be 110 but dimmers and fans do not like eachother (especialy electronic dimers)I would sugguest a fan motor-speed control or just replace it with a regular switch.
