Is there a Code limit on the number of tandem breakers in a panel?

I have a 200 amp panel. I've already installed 3 tandem breakers (2 20-amp and 1 15-amp). I need to add one more to make a new 15-amp circuit. Is there a Code limit regarding this? Thanks in advance.

It's fine as long as the panel is designed for it. For many panels (SquareD especially), the model number of the panel encodes how many spaces and how many breakers it can accommodate. According to the NEC, a panel can have at most 42 breakers, and a tandem breaker counts as two.

The diagram on the interior of the panel will show exactly how many and in what postions the tandem breakers are allowed.

Thanks John and Van,
My panel allows 10 slots for tandem breakers. I'm in good shape.
