only high speed on fan

fan speeds

I have a Hunter ceiling fan which had three speeds originally. However, now it will only run on the fastest speed. I can pull the chain three times and only get the fastest speed. It is only one year old. Any ideas? Thanks!

You mean it goes: HIGH, HIGH, HIGH, OFF.

Or: HIGH, OFF, OFF, OFF.

Regarding the Hunter ceiling fan with only the high speed. It goes high, high, high and off. Any suggestions?

It needs a new capacitor. Call Hunter and give them your model number.

Ceiling Fan trips switch

Hi, I recently installed 2 ceiling lights/fans in separate rooms. I am now having trouble with the 3rd. We installed the fan which works great until we turn the wall switch off. It must also be connected to a safety outlet on the opposite side of the wall because that outlet trips and we have to push the reset button for it to turn on again. This does not happen every time. We opened everything up and made sure nothing is in contact. More information on wiring: the original wires were only black and white (no ground). The ground wire is connected to the mounting box as instructed. The black and white wires are not clearly marked. Is it possible that we accidentally switched the 2? ThanksRead More

Outlets reading 75V

I'm in a fairly new home - 1.5 years old. Two outlets in one room recently quit working. (The two outlets are fed by one line from the main panel.) With my voltmeter, I discovered these readings: black wire to white wire - 74 volts black wire to ground wire - 120 volts white wire to ground wire - 21 volts (On a working outlet on the opposite wall, I read: black to white - 120 volts black to ground - 120 volts white to ground - 0 volts) I was surprised to find any voltage at all at the bad outlets.
