Can Not Adjust Motion Light (Time)
#1

I have some motion lights that I may have to replace cause they are not top quality and 10 years old. But, first I would rather get this particular one to stay on longer than 5 seconds!! I adjusted sensitivity and time switch (no test mode option) but would only stay on for 5 sec, regardless of the position of the time switch. I tried turning time switch back and forth repeatedly in case it got stuck (internally), but did not help.
Got any ideas? They aren't easily accessible and I would rather want to replace all 4 of them. They are on seperate switches.
The brand is Light Force, heard of them? Also, I have never seen good quality motion lights, any suggestions on brand or where to buy? Doubt at a big box store.
Thanks for your time and ideas!!

Feel good to have gotten 10 years out of them. Motion lights contain sensitive electronic components that are installed in a harsh environment. That said, they have come a long way in 10 years. The cheaper ones at the big box stores will do just fine. The more expensive fixtures are generally built a bit sturdier (i.e metal vs. plastic), have a greater range of motion detection (i.e 180 degrees vs. 270 degrees), and have some other bells and whistles that you probably don't need. Like everything else at big box stores, don't buy the cheapest and don't buy the most expensive and you will do fine.
