Question outlet getting "juice" but won't power lamp

When I added a bedroom in my daylight basement 3 years ago, I installed four outlets on a seperate 15amp circut. All the outlets have worked in the past 3 years, until recently. The last outlet in the line gets "juice" ( so my $10 circut tester says), but it won't power a lamp or vacuum. Whats causing that? How do i fix it?

Are you checking for power between the hot and neutral or the hot and ground? It sounds as though that you have "lost" the neutral conductor.

If these receptacles have two slits and a hole, then buy an $8 receptacle tester. Plug it in and tell us what the lights tell you. But I agree with tex. Most likely you have an open neutral.
