Florescent light fixtures all go bad at once?
I have several florescent light fixtures in my kitchen. None of them seem to be working properly. Bulbs glow dim but will not light up.
I‘ve tried replacing the tubes on one or two of them but they still don’t work. How is this possible? How do I know if it’s the ballast that has gone bad and would could this affect the other florescent fixtures?

If all the florecents glow dim and this has just started to happen then there could be a few reasons for it. The first thing to do is check the voltage you are getting to the fixtures in the first place. Check all your connections. Has there been any resent work done around the house? Have you noticed anything else behaving differently?
The odds of the ballasts all going the same way at the same time are very slim (doesn't mean it couldn't happen just means not very likely) but the odds of a loose or bad connection or the voltage these fixtures are getting is not enough now that is a good possibilty.
