I was wondering if cable fishing (TV and internet) is something I could do it myself instead of calling someone. My basement is finished. Some of the outlets throughout the house seem to be disconnected somewhere as well.

If I can do it myself, then what are the equipments and supplies that I would need to do this? If the equipments that you recommend to use are expensive to purchase, is there any other alternative or even do it without it?

Much depends on the structure of your house.Probably the simplest is a ranch-style house with an attic above all the rooms.There are certain "tricks-of-the-trade" such as dropping a chain from the attic down along the "stack" of the sanitary plumbing system.

What is the scope of your project in terms of the number, location, and types of connection points? Off-hand, I'd guess you'd need a power-drill and wood-bits 18" to 24" in lenth.

I suggest you submit this question to the "Communications" Section of this Forum. State the purpose of the cables----computor, TV, telephone etc.You'll receive expert advise on the types of cable to use and the correct connection fittings and procedures.-----Good Luck!!!
