Installing a stove receptacle

HELP! I am installing a new electric stove. I removed the drop in stove that was in the kitchen and found that there is no outlet for me to plug the stove in to. The drop in was attched by conduit leading to a junction box.
Is installing this recptacle something I can do on my own or do I need to call an electrician to do it? I know how to install a regular outlet but I have never installed one like this before.
The specs for the new stove are:
120/140 volt, 60Hz, AC 40amp, 3 or 4 wire, single phase, seperate circuit, fused on both sides of the line is required. Range must be connected with copper wire only.
Any help or advice would be appreciated.

What size wire was connected to the old stove? What size breaker (or fuses) protected that existing stove wire? How many and what color wires were comming out of the wall to connect to the old stove? #8 awg copper minimum is needed for a 40A circuit.
