Another electrical question...

I bought my house a little over year ago and have already fixed many things with the electrical because the previous owners thought they knew what they were doing...or just didn't care...

I have a 100amp fuse panel I would like to get swapped out for either a 100amp circuit panel or a 200amp circuit panel. Can anyone tell me how much this should cost in the chicago area...a ball park figure maybe?

Also...I need to have a few things wired because right now I have my garage, my above ground pool, and a receptacle in the basement on one circuit...obviously this is wrong...

I know the pool and garage should each be on their own circuit so I need to get this changed.

I am going to start to get some estimates, but I was hoping to get a heads up on what to expect.

Thanks,
John

I would go with thye 200A panel, so that if you upgrade your electrical service to 200A, you'll be ready already.

I agree with Ron. No reason to go any lower than 200 amps.

Budget about two grand for this project.

$2000 for the new panel or the new panel and the new circuits for the pool and the garage?

Thanks,
John

Yes. Too many unknowns to be more specific.

You are in Chicago. That means all work in conduit. That adds to price.
