missing housing for shower fixture

Hi I purchased a electric light fixture for my shower but when I went to install I realized the upper housing was missing any suggestions on how to still utilize the fixture w/o the housing its complete with electric box and all else I hate to just throw it away please help Thanks Jim

Why not take it back and get another?

I assume this is a wet-location rated fixture, that is a high-hat (recessed can)?
Sorry to dissapoint, but I would toss it and consider it a good thought when you were at the estate sale, just not a fully -baked plan due to lack of knowledge, which isn't your fault because no one there told you, and you did not know; Hence you are on a learning curve.

It is not worth the trouble to salvage it or get the parts that are missing. Too risky, especially for the shower of all places.
