Wiring a swicth/recepticle/light
I un-wired a room because the previous owner had wired the bathroom circuit together with another room. It didn't take much to blow the breaker. I now need to wire an outlet, switch and light so theoutlet is always on, but the switch controls the light. I have 14-2 coming from the breaker (15amp), white, black, copper. I've connected the white together and pigtailed it to the outlet. Connected the black from breaker to out let and tied the black from switch and light. Connected copper togther. Nothing works, what am I doing wrong?

There are many, many different ways to wire this. I can't follow your description. I don't know how many electrical boxes are involved, and I don't know to which box the power comes first.
The simplest is cable routing is: Power-Receptacle-Switch-Light. I'm assuming that the receptacle, switch and light each have their own electrical box.
At the receptacle, connect the blacks to the two brass screws and the whites to the two silver screws. Connect the two bare wires to each other with a pigtail to the green screw.
At the switch, connect the two whites to each other, and the two whites to the two screws. Connect the two bare wires to each other with a pigtail to the green screw.
At the light, connect black to black, white to white, bare to bare.

Let me start over. I have 1 power cable coming into a duel box which contains a light switch and outlet. I have 1 cable coming from the light fixture. The switch is pre-wired with a black wire on each side and no markings. What is the best way to wire this configuration?

Is this switch a dimmer?
