Lose half my circuits but they don't Trip!

I have started losing power to about half my circuits, however my circuits don't trip! What is also strange is that it happens in the middle of the night or when we aren't home..this is strange int he fact that not much electric is being used at those times!

The few things I have done recently, replace some outlets added a subpanel all still work!

The first time I shut down the main circuit and shut off all the breakers and then turned on the Main and then turned on every breaker one at a time. This worked.....for a while. A couple days later the same thing. This time shutting down the main and bringing everything back up didn't work.

However, a couple hours later everything was back like nothing happened.

HELP!!!

Call your power company now. Not tomorrow. Now. If they find nothing wrong, call an electrician. Somewhere, either on the power company's side or yours, you have a loose power feed. One thing that often triggers this is the wind. Any chance this is more likely to occur on windy days than calm days?

John,

Thanks for the advice! I called the power company and they came right out. It was a "meltdown" out near the transformer on the pole.

Looks like it wasn't my new outlet afterall!

Thanks Again!!!
