Smile Ceiling fan wiring

I had to take my ceiling fan/light fixture down because it was becoming loose at the base. I have tightened everything up but now I have forgotten how the wires attached. The fan was here when I moved in so I do not have a diagram/instructions. Hence the wiring problem. The house wiring has three wires, 1 white, 1 black and a copper. The fan has 4, a white, blue, black, green and plus a green wire(ground) attached to the cover of the fan . Anyone have any suggestions on what goes where?

I think white on white, black on black, green on copper with the green wire attached to the fan cover plate to ground it. But what about the blue?

Connect both the blue and black from the fan to the black from the ceiling. Then connect white to white and green to bare.

Thumbs up

Thanks, John! It worked like a charm. I printed out your instructions and put them in my home repair file incase I ever have to mess with the wiring again. Thanks again!
