I have a stained glass hanging light that I put in months ago. It has been working fine until just yesterday. It flickers every once in a while (maybe once every 30 min or so). I tried tighening the bulb and that didn't seem to change things. Is it just the light bulb or should I be concerned about the fixture itself (fire hazard, shock hazard???)
I have a 60 year old house that needs a full rewire. I'm going to hire an electrical contractor but want to get an idea about costing. From what I've read, he will charge me by the "opening" (switches, outlets, fixtures). I have 35 openings and I want to add about 4 new circuits. I already have a breaker box installed.
What should the cost "by the opening" cover? I assume labor, but does it include new switches? New outlets? Circuits? New wire? Just want to see what kind of total I might be looking at so I can plan the financial end.
Thanks!!!
Hello Folks, I took a 120 volt, 750 watt in wall heater out. It was connected to 12/2 wire. I used a volt meter and the best I can tell I'm getting a 125 reading. (possible??). I tried to follow it back to the breaker but keep getting lost. I'm going to test the breakers 1 by 1 when the wife comes home. The below question is based on it being a 20 amp breaker.
I want to add 4 outlets and a light switch with 2 closet covered cans. Can I use 15 amp recepts and switches or do I need 20 amp???? I will run 12/2 on the add on. Thanks in advance for your help.Eric
