reset for motion detector

:confused: Hello eveyone, Our house was built in 1967, We bought 3 years ago,there have been a number of upgrades done and I'm sure most of them were done by Harry Homeowner, our electrical probs. are #1 when any appliances are kicked on the lights go dim breifly and some cases go bright breifly.the circuit in the master bath really goes dim and stays that way when the hair dryer is used.#2 The clothes dryer is a 30amp zinsco c-b that has to be replaced every 6 mos. to a year. I've replaced 3 so far, getting exspensive.#3 we have an out bldg. that has a 220 line under ground but only 1 side is hot. I checked the c-b @ the main panel and its ok, and disconnected it @ 1 point to see if it might be the culprit for the lights going dim, not the problem. I'm thinking there might be a ground problem and will probably hire an electrician to check everything out just wanted to pick your brains before anyone looks at it. We have a service pole @ the road then runs underground to a outdoor zinsco meter box I think is 100 amp w/ a sub box for the ac/heat/ect.then a murray 125 amp circuit box in the house. All the zinsco 30amp c-bs that keep going out are in the box outside W/ the meter. It is grounded to a metal pipe in the ground @ the meter next to the foundation. Thanks max

I recently installed a new motion sensor and now the porch light doesn't work. Firstly, one wall switch inside the house controls the porch light and motion sensor. Secondly, I removed the old motion sensor which was wire this way: 1 white to white; 1 red and 1 black wire pigtailed to the green grounding wire from the box; and 1 black to black. The new motion sensor only had one white wire and one black wire, which I wired: 1 white to white and the black to black. The green grounding wire coming from the box, I connected to the grounding screw in the new motion sensor. Once I completed the hook up, the new motion sensor works, but the porch light does not come on. Can someone tell me where I went wrong. THANKS!!!!!!!!!!!
