Question Stupid question - wire gauge

Very soon I'll be rewiring my entire house - knocking holes in the walls and all.

Huge project - major pain in the rear. I'm thinking I should pull 12 AWG wire even for the 15 amp circuits. This way I can upgrade in the future with the swapping of a breaker. Any reason to pull the 14 guage stuff at all?

Thanks,
Kongar

The only time I use 14 is for dedicated lighting circuits. Actually I almost never mix lights and recepts in a house. If its in a house that I wired and its a 15 its lights. I like it because its nice to hook all those little fixture wires to and find it easier to work overhead with.

Going with all 12 is good. Buy large boxes and plan the routing carefully so you don't need to put more than three cables in a box.

If your going to go with #12 go ahead and put it on a 20a breaker. That way you already have the capacity and no upgrading is needed.
