Doorbell only makes single chime sound

I replaced my old doorbell because we painted the hallway and the old doorbell was old and ugly. It worked fine before I took it down. I installed a new doorbell and made the front door have a double tone and the back door have a single tone. The front door only hits one chime. I can watch the solenoid when the button is pushed and the solenoid doesn’t pull the plunger far enough to hit both chimes. The plunger goes in partial way then back out to hit only one chime. I can physically push the plunger through the solenoid to make it create a double tone sound, so I know I have the front door connected to the double tone solenoid. Thinking the transformer voltage was too low, I replaced it with the correct voltage (16V) and it still only hits one chime. What is wrong?

Replace the transformer again, this time make sure it says 20mA or 30mA. Your fancy chime needs more current.

I went to a local hardware store and could only find 2 transformers that said 16V-10VA and a 16V-15VA. They did not have any that said 20ma or 30ma. I haven't gone to the big home improvement stores yet. Will I be able to find it at these big stores or will I need to go to a store that specializes in electrical supplies?
