IC rated reccessed lights and insulation

I recently installed Halo IC rated recessed lights. Now I am going to replace insulation in attic. Can I completely cover the recessed lights housings with insulation butts? I am going to add several layers of butts: one layer going along the joists, another -perpendicular to joists. It means can I fully bury housings in insulation?

yes IC means full contact. Lights may begin to go out due to heat (there is a thermo-switch built in to protect the lights) but you can lower the wattage of the lamps if you have to.
