Unhappy Line outage

I have one line in the house that will shut down for about 30 seconds, then come back online. It doen't trip a breaker when this happens and doesn't happen all the time. The line has outlets and lights both up and downstairs. Don't know where to start. Any ideas?

BREAKER

I had a similiar problem with a microwave.
my problem was that when i tried to use the microwave i would lose power to the line also.
my breaker did not trip either. however by reseting it did restore power. i replaced the breaker and all was well.
in your case you could have an internal mechanical problem with the breaker.

thanx kurt

Thanks Kurt. I was thinking along those lines, sounds like a good place to start!

Could be a loose wire or connection on the circuit. Does all the devices on the circuit go dead or just part of them? You could do a test by switching the wires from 2 breakers of the same value. If the breaker is the problem, the problem should go to the other circuit.

I'm pretty sure everything on the circuit goes when this happens. I am going to replace the circuit breaker today and i'll see what happens!
