Recessed lighting below iron gas line

I am installing 75 watt recess lighting in my basement.
8" above where I want to install a light is the black iron pipe
gas line to my furnace. The recessed light can can have insulation
above it (IC).

Is this a problem, having the can 8" from the gas line?

dedicated and hardwired?

Hi. I need to understand what I’ve just read in a manual for a Whirpool/Bathing Pool Cadet 5'x36" 2771.XXXW Series American Standard. -“The Whirpool should be installed on a 120 vac, 15 amp dedicated circuit. The circuit should be hard-wired from the electrical power supply panel. The circuit must be a (3) wire circuit from the electrical supply panel. A grounded neutral wire and a third wire, earth ground, are essential.” They also say: - “Run a dedicated 15amp GFCI protected electrical line (A) What I can understand: 1-“The Whirpool should be installed on a 120 vac, 15 amp dedicated circuit.” What I don’t get: 2- “The circuit should be hard-wired from the electrical power supply panel” QUESTION: What is the difference between 1 (dedicated) and 2 (hardwired)? (B) I know they ask for: - “Run a dedicated 15amp GFCI protected electrical line”. QUESTIONS: Since I have a Power Supply Panel with 200A : -Can I put a 20amp (not 15) GFCI protected electrical line with an UF-B 12/2 Outdoor Electrical Wire with Ground, (that I have already in place) and put the extra ground bar? Or -Must be through separated cables (White, Black and ground) into conduit? -Is dangerous to put a GFCI 20A circuit instead of GFCI 15A one? Can someone explain how to hook up this baseboard?

Hi- I know I shouldn't be messing with this but I need to. I have an old house that has electric baseboard heat. The system in my living room broke. I replaced it with a new one. THere is one with a thermostat one it. And this unit controls another one in the corner of the room? Here's the confusing part? I mean it should just be hooking up simple right, wrong, at least for my novice eyes... On the new heater there are two hookups. Each with a black and a red wire off of them. This sits behind the switch itself... Coming out of the wall are my wires? One RED, one BLACK and one WHITE, and the copper ground wire... HOW THE heck do I hook this up? I ran the red one to the red one on the unit and the black to the black one on the unit. I then ran the thin copper one to the baseboard itself, for grounding? WHere the heck does the white one go? Can anyone explain how to hook this heater up? What is the white wire for out of the wall? NEUTRAL? Where does that one go? At least on the switch? I only have two wires on each switch? Not three? If I can't figure this out, gotta call an electritian and look like a morron!!! As if I don't already....LOL Thanks SpankeyRead More
