what causes the lights in an older home to burn out faster than normal... changing alot of bulbs so often its like the plague !!

Bulbs that burn out quickly can be caused by any of a number of factors:
  • Vibration.
  • Trapped heat.
  • Overwattage bulbs.
  • Moisture getting to the bulb.
  • Cheap bulbs.
  • Spikes in the voltage supply.
  • Leaving the bulbs on longer than you think.
Try buying bulbs marked "130v". Or buy bulbs from a major manufacturer marked as double-life bulbs.
