Disposal switch

I recently discovered that the switch that my disposal is connected to is not working correctly. When I flip the switch to the on position, nothing happens. However when I put additional pressure to the switch, in the same direction, the disposal will work. Basically, as long as I hold the switch in that position, everything works fine.

Is this just a switch gone bad or something I should be more concerned about?

Thanks in advance for all of your help!!

Steve

Bad switch. When you replace it, try using a heavy duty switch. You may have to get one from an electrical supply house rather than a big box.

Just use a regular 15 amp snap switch. Most disposers pull well less than 8 amps. The price of a heavy duty switch is not justified.
