outlet

changed outlets in one room ,also a wall switch that works with one outlet. Tested all the outlets worked good when I got to the outlet that is operated by wall switch the tester said thatoutlet had an open neutal. can I still use that outlet.

An open neutral means that there is no return path for the current. Nothing will work.

You need to find the problem and correct it. Either you wired the switch wrong or the outlet wrong, or one of your connections came un-done.

Does the outlet test OK when the switch is on? Sounds to me like your breaking the neutral at the switch instead of the hot wire.
