Question Basement Lighting

I am finishing my basement and am in the planning stage for lighting. The basement is approxiamately 650 sq feet, and will be divided into a TV Living area, Kitchen space (no stove) with an L shape counter and about 15 feet of running counter plus a fridge, and a separate bathroom with washer dryer (about 150 square feet. Ceiling will be a dropped ceiling with 7'3" Headroom. The ceiling joists are 2X10 and I will drop the ceiling about 2-3" below the joists.

My question is what type of lighting makes sense. I am currently thinking of using recessed lighting in the TV arera nd Kitchen, plus possibly some flourescent light in the kithen. Bathroom I am considering flouresecent plus incadesent lighting around the vanity area.

Any ideas or suggestions to help? How far should I place the recessed lighting cans if I determine to go in that direction?

remember to light the stair way
all stairways greater than 6 steps must have all steps must be light by a fixture with a switch at both the top and bottom landings
