Time for new switches?

We pulled all of the switch plate and outlet covers in preparation for painting our living room. With the plates off, I noticed that with one or two of them I can see a small spark when the switch is thrown. I do know that the backs of the plates have not discolored. Is it time to swap out the switches? Thanks

Most switches produce a small spark when opened or closed.

I would say do some further investigation into this amtter and see if the switches are really in need of replacement. just take one at random and pull it out of the box inspect the wiring the connections and if the back of the box shows signs of darking like it was burnt by sparks . once all of this is done than decide if you need to replace them
