Tanning Bed Wiring?

Hello All,

I purchased a used tanning bed and it does not have a plug on the end of the cable. The thing requires 220.

Normally wiring up something like this is not a problem for me. However the cord on the tanning bed has a wire colors that I am not familiar with.

One is brown, one is blue and one is green/yellow stiped.

Any thoughts on which one to connect to the bare wire.

Trent

Trent,
Those colors are European. Hopefully one of our fellow posters from the other side of the pond can help with this.

Before you wire, you need to make sure that thios will work on US 220. European 220 is very different. You may have bought a white elephant.

European wire colors are brown for line, light blue for neutral, and a combination of green and yellow for ground. Unless this bed has a UL label, I recommend you do not install it. It is always risky to install in the U.S. appliances designed for use in Europe.
