Possible to put a floor outlet in concrete slab floor?

I'm remodeling a room w/ a concrete slab floor above grade. I would like to install an electrical floor outlet in the floor before putting down ceramic tile. Is it possible? I envision somehow digging out a "trench" to put the conduit/wiring in from the wall to the middle of the room where the outlet would be "sunk" in a hole dug into the slab. This sounds feasible but can it be done at reasonable cost or should I just pull out the trusty extension cord?

Sure. Go for it. Rent a concrete saw and cut a channel. Install conduit in the channel. Use a floor rated box. You'll know you have found the right box when you faint at the price.
