outlets not working
I have outlets in two areas, a bathroom and a backyard, that stopped working. Everything else in the house in fine, but two outlets in a bathroom and one on the patio just stopped. How do I begin to figure out the problem? By the way, the bathroom one don't have whatever you call those switches in the middle of the outlet faceplate that I usually find in bathrooms and kitchens. Thanks for any advice.

The words "bathroom" and "backyard" trigger the brain of everybody here to scream "GFCI". Find all the GFCI receptacles and breakers in your house and press the "R" or "RESET" buttons on them. You have more than you think you do, so look hard.
