240 outlet

I need to know what size fuse to install for a 240v outlet. It will access an electric dryer. Also, will a welder work properly if plugged in at a later time?

Most, but not all residential clothes dryers, use 30-amp fuses or a 30-amp double-pole breaker. You need to check the specs of your dryer to determine this.

Welders come in all shapes and sizes. The larger welders cannot function on a dryer circuit. Again, check the specs.

The most important rule is to match the fuse or breaker to the size of the wire. The second important rule is to match it to the requirements of the appliance. Finally, it must be matched to the receptacle.

There's no room for guessing here. Make sure everything matches!
