ceiling fan installation

I have recently installed two ceiling fans with light kits. One of the fans works normally, the other works OK for a short while then the two bulbs start flashing and every now and then one of the lights will extinguish. Any ideas? Is it possible the earth is not working correctly?

Need more details to give a good answer, but check that all wires are secure under their wire nuts, and be sure the bulbs are tight. It's also possible you have a defective fan, which may require replacement.
Not sure what you mean by "the earth not working correctly"

Good Luck!

Thanks Andy. I have prevously redone the wiring to ensure a good connection and the bulbs are tight. The funny thing is a friend of mine has the same problem with one of the two ceiling fans he installed in his house!! Might need to get a replacement fan.

A few ideas:

Are you using the special bulbs designed for ceiling fans? These bulbs are more vibration-resistant.
Are you using the type of bulb specified by the manufacturer?
Are you staying within the wattage guidelines for the fixture?
Did you check the wiring harness between the fan and the fan's light kit?
Are the bulbs screwed in firmly?
Try slightly bending out the tab in the bottom of the bulb socket (with the breaker off).
Even though the earth isn't working very well right now, it has nothing to do with your problem.
