Electric Range Controls

I have a 3 year old Whirlpool range with ceramic top. The control that operates a rapid heat burner isn't doing what it is supposed to do. The control has to be set to "4" before there is enough heat generated to simmer. Have checked a similar range elsewhere and the control when set to "1" handles that chore.
How do I get to the control itself to replace ?. There appears to be about a dozen screws at the rear and having removed them and the back plates, I still can't seem to access the control.
Would appreciate any advice.

Hi Ed,
You might want to post in the appliance forum, those guys probably can help you better.

Hello: Ed

Best two places to get the info is at the local appliance part stores in your area. The part stores also have the and parts.
They are listed in the phone book.

Second suggestion is to check the manufacturers web site. Search by model number. Often there will be a downloadable pdf file which contains the info needed.

To obtain a downloadable pdf file, you will also need to first download the Adobe program. Worth having and it is free.
